SPC-CA Card Issuing
I. ISSUING HIERARCHY
a) Certification Authority
The Certification Authority controls the number of Issuers and the number of CC cards that each Issuer can issue. Each CA card has unique number and in the process signing the Issuer card, CA assigns a unique number to the Issuer’s card.
b) Issuer
The CA generates the Issuer’s Certificates, which grants rights to the Issuer to issue Merchants Cards (crypto cards).
c) Merchant
The Merchant receives pre-initialized card (crypto card)
Fig. 1 shows the Crypto Card issuing hierarchy. On the Top of the hierarchy is the Certification Authority (CA). The certificates are guaranteed by the SPC-CA Organization. Each Merchant’s crypto card (CC) can be verified and traced backwards to each Issuer and each Issuer’s CARD can be verified with the CA.
